The store front just shouts fun with posters of candy and unique toys for kids arranged in the windows.
And when you walk in, you are immediately overwhelmed with the enormous amount of candy displayed on bookcases. Overwhelmed with happiness that is. One little girl walked in with her grandmother, and just said, "Oh Grams!" It was so cute.
Shiny, clear plastic bags individually packaged, priced, and labeled; ready for chubby little fingers to rip them open and devour the contents.
I told Martin I found him on the shelf. :) As he got closer he got more excited about the Abba-Zaba candy bars below than the funny Big Hunks I was pointing at. A childhood sweet that him and his brother Anthony used to share. I can just picture their sticky fingers peeling the wrapper off as they decided how they were going to throw their army men off the roof.
These swirly candy sticks are so pretty. Swirled with every sugary color in the rainbow. I remember my sister Bethany and I getting these on a boardwalk in NH when I was young and each of us letting my little sister Vicki sneak a taste every time our parents turned their back. It makes me laugh, because I'm sure they knew what we were doing, especially since her lips matched the stained rainbow color of ours.
I love candy stores and even though we usually walk out with only one or two treats it's always fun to peruse the aisles and talk about childhood memories.
