Random Wednesday Ramblings

I love country music. I have a new favorite song. It came on the radio yesterday and Martin turned to me and said, "I wrote this song for you." Then he went back to his laptop and as I listened to the lyrics I smiled.

The song is called "Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice

Some of my favorite verses:

"They called them crazy when they started out

Said seventeen's too young to know what loves about
They've been together fifty-eight years now
That’s crazy.

Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I Love You

Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy."

I love these lyrics, they make me smile. We've been together since we were 15. We stayed together, even through our senior year of high school when he moved to Texas and I stayed in New Hampshire. We are going to be together 10 years (going on 58 years), this October. And we still love like crazy.

And while I'm on the topic of my husband, I also ran across these photos I took a couple weeks ago when we were down in Narragansett, RI. Martin worked for a contractor a few years ago before he went out on his own and one of the last houses him and his crew built was probably also one of the biggest and most beautiful. It was a custom design, has breathtaking ocean views, and is just gorgeous. We decided to take a detour and drive past it just for kicks.

Much to our surprise we found that there was a FOR SALE sign in the front yard. I snapped a few shots from the outside and we couldn't wait to get home and look up the listing online. You see, Martin gets to see the empty lot, the framing, the structural pieces go together, but his job is complete when the rooms are bare and empty. He usually doesn't get to see the rooms with paint, furniture, decorations. Much to our excitement, there were many pictures online of this 1.5 million dollar home.

I absolutely love the wrap-around porch.

The side with the three-car garage has beautiful lights and the landscaping on the entire property was done impeccably. Despite the bare branches and brown leaves we could tell that it is stunning in the summer.

Lots of windows to let in the sunshine and look out at the ocean.

It is a big house...lots of square footage...a little over 5,000 sq. ft. to be exact.

(All of the pictures below are from the Bay Realty website.)
The entryway is unique with an elegant front door and beautiful stairs.

This is also part of the entryway, I love how the stairway is so open and airy.

The sitting area or formal living room, complete with a fireplace. I really like the colors they chose.
They remind me of summer and happiness.

The living room also has a fireplace and views of the yard with lots of windows and french doors leading to the porch.

Open floorplan kitchen, I'm not sure how I feel about the red island color, but what a cool place to entertain while you cook.

I love the cabinets and the huge window over the sink.

Can you imagine having a dinner party here with the ocean behind you and all that natural light? One feature of this house that I absolutely adore is the coffered ceilings.

A cute little breakfast nook, painted a fun color that makes me think of fresh fruit.

An open airy deck, lush green grass, and those ocean views. *Sigh*

I'd live here...in a minute!

I'm sure it is staged and there were no good photos of the bedrooms or bathrooms but this was enough to satisfy my curiosity. Very rarely do we get to see the finished product but this one was a success I'd say. :)

Now if I could just scrounge up 1.5 million dollars...;)
