Christmas 2009

The Christmas season always starts with the same familiar traditions: with choosing a christmas tree, decorating the house, stringing the lights, wrapping the presents, and making those scrumptious holiday cookies.
We did all these things in between both of us working crazy hours. But once Christmas Eve rolls around and the anticipation builds up for Christmas day there is one thing that I look forward to each and every year. Midnight Mass...to welcome Christmas day and reflect on everything we have to be grateful for. Martin and I attended mass, and after joining in songs, praying, and reflecting on what Christmas is truly about, we left church with smiles on our faces and a calmness about us. Christmas was here yet again and we were lucky enough to have family and friends to celebrate it with.
Christmas morning we got up and headed downstairs to make cinnamon rolls (Jones tradition!) and to start opening our presents. Stockings first, then presents, that is the way it goes. We decided to not go overboard this year and only exchange small gifts. We both enjoyed seeing each other's reactions to our gifts and then we got ready to head to NH. We went to my mom's house and then we all headed over to my Aunt Donna's house to meet up with the rest of the family. Lots of laughing, lots of food, and lots of people! We counted 31 I think.
