Kitchen

Our kitchen has not had very many changes. I like the way it is set up and did not feel the need to change anything. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, if you know me you know that I love to cook. I love that I have a ton of cabinet space, a ton of counter space, and it's open to our sunroom and eating area. The stove is probably my least favorite part of the kitchen. I had never used a flat top stove before we moved here and it looks cool but is not very consistent with regards to heat. The sink is a decent size and is in the same corner as the dishwasher.
Mojave has his own little corner with his water fountain and food bowls. He is spoiled...I'll admit it. But it's pretty funny when we're cooking in the kitchen, he is always right by our side.
We have the kitchen cart with the microwave tucked into the corner of the sun room out of the way. My Mom bought me these beautiful white porcelain pieces that are on top; one is a pitcher and one is a teapot. They have hand-sculpted flowers that are really elegant and whimsical.

I have simple white canisters on the counter to hold the kitchen staples like flour, sugar, and tea. I have my white kitchen-aid mixer which I use all the time in the corner where it is easily accessible. I have a cute pasta canister that my Mom bought me a couple of years ago that I love. I have a large amount of spices in my spice cabinet but there are a few that I use on a regular basis. I decided to add a fun decorative element and take these everyday spices/herbs and put them into four clear glass containers on top of the stove. I have oregano, kosher salt, herbs de provence, and garlic powder.
And, last year Martin bought me this fabulous under the cabinet radio/cd player. I use it all the time and is great for when we have friends over while we're cooking. I have my beloved salt bowl that Martin made the lid for. And with my salt bowl are my cooking must-haves: extra-virgin olive oil, canola oil, and my pepper grinder.
So that's the tour of our kitchen. Pretty simple but has all the things I love and need for my many cooking adventures. Hope you enjoyed the tour!
